I created Awhi Ora Rongoā because I wanted a space where I could share one of the biggest passions in my life, which is rongoā māori.
Awhi Ora Rongoā means to uplift and help the wellbeing/health of our people and is a place of healing where you can come and learn about native plants, trees, kaitiaki, atua, kairongoā and anything related to rongoā, healing or wairuatanga. Awhi Ora Rongoā is also a space to access rongoā that I create to help heal the many ailments that our people are suffering from.
My mahi is important because it awakens a traditional healing practice passed down from our tīpuna māori, passed down from kaitiaki and atua. It connects us to special places in our whakapapa for who we are as Māori.
Rongoā māori covers all sectors of health and wellbeing for Māori as reconnection with whenua, whakapapa and wairua is the pathway back to te ao māori and health and well being for Māori.
Our offerings include a variety of customized gift packs to meet diverse needs, such as flu packs, womb healing packs, and small, medium, or large gift packs. Each pack can be tailored to specific requirements. We provide comprehensive online rongoā consultations, taking into account the entire whare tapa whā of the individual, including their medical history, whakapapa, and other pertinent factors, to identify the most suitable rongoā for healing and wellness.
Additionally, we offer structured online workshops on rongoā Māori, available in three levels:
Beginners Workshop: Covers the basics of rongoā Māori, tikanga, whakapapa, and the medicinal properties of native plants and trees.
Intermediate Workshop: Explores wairuatanga korero and the application of Kawakawa poulticing.
Advanced Workshop: Focuses on the creation of rongoā such as wairākau, hinu, and pani.
We also conduct educational sessions on rongoā Māori in kura, businesses, and corporate settings.
