We are so excited to share that we’ll be hosting Keri Opai (Te Atiawa, Ngāti Ruanui, Ngāti Te Ata, Waiohua, Ngāti Porou) for Kia Kai-Kōrero Tātou: Celebrating Te Reo Hāpai — a kōrero honouring 10 years of Te Reo Hāpai – The Language of Enrichment.
Date: 16 October, 11:00am–12:00pm
Where: Zoom
Register here.
Created by Keri, Te Reo Hāpai is the first Māori language glossary for the mental health, addiction, and disability sectors. Grounded in He mana tō te kupu – words have great power, it is more than a glossary — it’s a living taonga.
This kōrero will:
• Honour the development and legacy of Te Reo Hāpai
• Reflect on 10 years of impact, growth, and sector change
• Explore language as a tool for activism, system change, and reimagining wellbeing
• Hear from kaikōrero who have embedded Te Reo Hāpai in their mahi
• Acknowledge the whānau, organisations, and communities who continue to support this kaupapa
Come and reflect on the enduring power of kupu to connect, uplift, and transform.
