In this insightful and uplifting fireside conversation Jen Margaret joins Kahurangi Fergusson-Tibble to discuss Treaty Principles and practical actions for haumi/allies in these times.
It is always a pleasure to host Jen Margaret on the Whāriki. In kōrero with Kahurangi Fergusson Tibble, Jen discussed the commitments of Te Tiriti, the role of Treaty principles, and current government action. She discussed what we can do as haumi to support Te Tiriti honouring and what we might be hopeful about. The conversation and learning were amazing and the feedback from the 150 plus people who attended was incredibly positive. Make sure you check out Groundwork’s offerings to support learning and development for tangata Tiriti in these times. This hui was a timely opportunity to deepen our understanding and connect with others who are committed to Te Tiriti action.
Feedback from participants
“Thank you for the opportunity to learn, and the provision of the time to learn, so I can pass it on within my whānau. These on-line hui are great at building my confidence in a safe space, and I can apply my learnings at both work and at home.”
“These hui provide anchor points to revitalise aspirations and hopes. Ensuring that we continue to participate in such events is a support in and of itself.”
“ I will be discussing this with colleagues, including links to resources, to ensure we are collective in our response. I think knowledge is power so the links provided in the session as well as the discussion itself was so useful. Thank you for sharing.”
