Kaiwhakahaere | Whare Tukutuku, Te Rau Ora
Tracey Potiki is the Kaiwhakahaere of Whare Tukutuku, the National Māori Addiction Centre within Te Rau Ora. With over 20 years of experience in the alcohol and other drug (AOD) sector, she is a committed advocate for whānau, hapū and iwi, working to reduce AOD-related harm and promote whānau ora and wellbeing. Her leadership is grounded in kaupapa Māori values, and she is passionate about ensuring that the voices of whānau with lived experience are heard and valued across Aotearoa New Zealand.
Tracey brings deep insight to her role, shaped by both personal and professional experiences in addiction recovery and community health. She champions compassionate, culturally safe AOD services and advocates for the integration of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles into health systems. Previously, she served as Māngai ki Te Waipounamu for Te Rau Ora, leading wellness initiatives across the South Island.
Born in Ōtautahi and raised in the Kaiapoi takiwā, Tracey is a proud mother and Taua. Her whānau remains her greatest inspiration in all that she does.
